Help an Abused Child in PASCO COUNTY
Right here in Pasco County, there are more than 1,000 abused, neglected and abandoned children in the foster care system. At any given time, there are hundreds of kids waiting to be appointed a volunteer advocate to be their voice. You can help change a child's story by volunteering as a child advocate who works with a multidisciplinary team (trained volunteer, attorney & certified child advocate manager) to represent the best interests of an abused, neglected or abandoned child.
Who Can Be a Guardian ad Litem Volunteer Child Advocate?
Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and will have to complete a Level 2 background screening. A Volunteer Child Advocate does not have to be a lawyer, counselor, social worker, therapist or parent.
You are invited to attend an online orientation session to learn more. We hold sessions at least twice a week where you can learn more about the vital role our volunteers play in the lives of abused and neglected children. This session usually runs about 30 minutes and allows you to ask questions as well.
