Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program

Want to help children in your community that have experienced abuse and neglect? Become a volunteer Child Advocate with the Guardian ad Litem Program. Guardians ad Litem are court appointed advocates for children in the child welfare system. Our volunteer child advocates visit the children regularly, talk with teachers, therapists, physicians, etc. to get a holistic understanding of the child’s life, and ensure all the child’s needs are met. Advocates attend court hearings and along with our program staff, make recommendations to the Judge in regards to the child’s best interest. Through heartfelt advocacy, our goal is to ensure every child is safe, healthy and thrives in a permanent home.
