Hope Villages of America offers many opportunities for individuals and groups who want to make a difference in the community. In addition, coordinators of item and food drives are always needed. Another way to help is through a Food/Fund Drive. This is an excellent project for our younger volunteers or as a group project. FOOD DISTRIBUTION SERVICES:
Volunteers help with the most basic part of our mission, getting food to the people who need it most. Most donations need sorting, packing and marked before they are ready to be distributed. That is where you come in! Help us prepare food to be distributed through our program to fight hunger.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
- Sort food donations, packing bags and boxes of food for daily distribution
- Truck Driver who does light pickup (breads and pastries)
- Client intake with iPad and or computer, limited contact with guest
- Distribute food at drive-thru distribution door, limited contact with guest.
- After-hours cleaning the warehouse Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 3:30pm to 4:30pm, and Thurs 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
Volunteer Shifts are the following: (we are flexible with students, knowing that they have a tight schedule to work around and meet required service hours)
- Monday 08:30-11:30 am, 12:00-3:30 pm
- Tuesday 08:30-11:30 am, 12:00-3:30 pm
- Wednesday 08:30-11:30 am, 12:00-3:30 pm
- Thursday 08:30-11:30 am, 12:00-3:30, 3:30-6:45 pm
- Friday 08:30-11:30 am, 12:00-3:30 pm
HVA Mobile Food Truck: Volunteers help with distributing food boxes to clients in the local Pinellas County Community to people who need it the most. The location is at North Greenwood Recreation and Aquatic Complex. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month 3:00pm to 5:00pm 900 North Dr. MLK Jr. Ave. Clearwater, FL 33755.
- Distribute food at drive-thru distribution, limited contact with guest
- Client intake, limited contact with guest
- Help direct the flow of traffic
ABUSE SERVICES:
The opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life is at the heart of the volunteer experience. At Hope Villages, we recognize that volunteers are a valuable resource and our best ambassadors. We know individual skills and interests vary and that everyone can’t volunteer the same amount of time. Therefore, we offer many opportunities with various time commitments.
Persons interested in working directly with clients need to complete the state mandated 30-hour training class. For those who would like to get started right away or cannot take the training programs there are other opportunities available.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
- Victim advocates
- Housekeeping
- Mature mentors who can work with children to tutor
- Landscaping, gardening, and genal maintenance
*Volunteers for our Abuse Services must also complete CORE Training (three days of classroom training (24 hrs.) and 6 hrs. on on-site shadowing that is required of certified domestic violence center advocates and volunteers in order to qualify for victim/advocate privilege communications under Florida law.)
HOUSING SERVICES:
As a volunteer for our Housing Stability Services, you can support the mission of Hope Villages in countless ways.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
- Enthusiastic volunteers to organize donation drives for programs essential to the needs of our residents.
- Organize the storage room.
- Landscaping and gardening
- Mowing
- String trimming
- Edging
- Blowing
- Raking
- Window washing
- Pressure washing
- Paint parking stops
- Paint exterior railings
- General maintenance

Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33756. Students are welcome to volunteer at Hope Villages of America Food Bank, under 15yrs of age will need a chaperone.
All minors under 18yrs of age will have to have a parent/guardian sign the volunteer application within the office.
All Volunteers must complete our volunteer application and pass the background check to volunteer at any Hope Villages of America programs to ensure that it will be a safe volunteer experience for all. Please note that volunteer shifts availability does change on a day-to-day basis due to cancellations and maximum capacity allowed within the facility for safety purposes.
