Front Office Volunteer
Join our dynamic team and help the working uninsured with accessing medical care. Volunteers in Medicine is a free clinic providing primary and specialty care to workers whose salaries are under 250% of the federal poverty guideline. Volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, and lay volunteers staff the clinic.
Front office volunteers assist patients with check out, check in, making appointments, phone calls and obtaining medications. The front office is the busy hub of our clinic and offers experience to students who are interested in the medical field as well as community volunteers. The clinic is staffed in two shifts Monday through Friday from 9:00 - 5:00 and Saturday from 9:00 - noon.
A nine month commitment is required as all positions require training.
