An estimated 40 AmeriCorps Seniors SCP volunteer will serve, all of whom will be placed in outcome assignments. Some of their activities will include shopping assistance, paying bills, and escorted services with a primary focus area on Healthy Futures (aging in place). At the end of the three years grant, 40 homebound seniors will have improved social support allowing them to remain living independently in their community. AmeriCorps-Senior |Duval County Senior Companion Volunteer serve only adults, primarily older adults who have one or more physical, emotional, or mental health limitations and need assistance to achieve and maintain their high level of independent living.
