Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida
https://nhssf.org/Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida (NHSSF) collaborates with residents and community stakeholders to forge more equitable and income diverse neighborhoods in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Our goal is to provide innovative solutions to communities facing an affordable housing crisis and residential and business displacement due to climate change, natural disasters, gentrification, and unexpected economic hardships, such as the current pandemic. Each year, our "one-stop shop" comprehensive services allows us to guide nearly 1,500 households down the path of home ownership, self-employment, or business ownership. Our programs fall into five lines of business: Homeownership Education and Counseling, Lending, Real Estate Sales, Housing Development, and Community Building. We believe that knowledge is power, and that, by providing a range of intensive training and one-on-one counseling, affordable housing, and lending programs designed for LMI communities, we can ensure our clients will confidently build their personal wealth and achieve greater resilience when confronting future hardships. NHSSF maintains substantial expertise in financial counseling and community development and possesses deep roots in the communities we serve. NHSSF is a charter member of the NeighborWorks® Network, a certified NeighborWorks ® Homeownership Center, a HUD approved counseling agency, a Community Development Financial Institution, and a Community Housing Development Organization in the City of Miami who has adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. We are also founding members of the Community Reinvestment Alliance of South Florida and the South Florida Community Development Coalition, both of which work to ensure low-to-moderate income and minority residents have access to financial and other services to build resiliency and strengthen communities.
